Covid-19: Protocol to manage face-to-face consultations

Practice protocol relating to Covid-19 will be published and updated web required on the practice website.

A paper copy will be held on the premises and copies can be emailed to patients if required.

Communication with patients:

  1. Clinicians will contact patients by telephone for pre-appointment screening to determine whether they or a member of their household is experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 or has tested positive.
  2. The clinician will determine whether a face-to-face consultation is required.
  3. The clinician will obtain and record the patient’s consent for a face-to-face consultation.
    Consent will include but is not limited to:
    i. close patient contact required for osteopathic manual treatment and risk of transmission/exposure.
    ii. The level of PPE that the clinician is required to wear to mitigate the risk of transmission.
    iii The infection control measures that will be taken by the practice.
  4. Off-site reception will send a reminder text including time and date of appointment.
